BFGoodrich Tires, proud partner of SR Racing.
It is not often that the record books are rewritten, but that is exactly what. Shannon Rentsch and his navigator Ian have done this year in their #1 Jimco Pro Buggy.
In a year that saw the pair claim their fourth King of the Desertcrown, the father and son combination have won their 8th Australian Off Road Championship - more than any other competitor in Australian off road racing history.
BFGoodrich Tires is proud to have been with SR Racing since it all began, delivering the highest level of performance they need to conquer the toughest of terrains.
"Once again my BFGoodrich Tires delivered exactly what I needed from them, no matter what the terrain! While I am disappointed that the season was cut short, I am very happy with how this season has gone," said Shannon.
"I'm not one to look at the record books, but to win a National Championship is always special. Eight Championships now, all with BFGoodrich Tires, and each win feels just as good," said Rentsch.
In the AORC, BFGoodrich Tires prove again and again they have what it takes to withstand the harsh conditions of the Australian outback, even at the punishing pace of the trucks and buggies.
It was not just outright and the Pro Buggy Class where BFGoodrich Tires runners tasted success. In the Trophy Truck class it was BFGoodrich Tires runners Jaws Racing that took the Extreme 2WD Championship victory.
This season also saw the highly successful debut at Finke of the new BFGoodrich Baja T/A KR2. In just their first race on the new tyre, and on one of the toughest off road races in the world, Rhodes Racing came home second. The next round saw Jack Rhodes and David Pullino take their Jimco buggy to victory, securing the new tyre its first victory on Australian soil.
BFGoodrich Tires use their experience at the highest level of off road racing to design and develop their non-competition tyres. Thanks to this experience, the new BFGoodrich All Terrain KO2 tyre delivers exceptional toughness, durability and traction for traversing harsh conditions, including gravel, dirt, rock, and mud.
The KO2 tyre is the first consumer tyre to incorporate the BFGoodrich Tires' race-proven and race-winning CoreGard technology that gives it unmatched toughness, particularly against sidewall splitting. Compared to the already formidable BFGoodrich All Terrain KO tyre, the new KO2 is 20 percent stronger in this critical off-road performance area.
