company that would become one of the best known and most respected in the world. Our story is about achievements that made lives better and protected
our freedom. Our story is about thousands of people who applied their
imagination and creativity to develop new products that gave birth to entire industries...

At BFGoodrich we make tyres for people who want more fun from their vehicles - just like we do. If you have a passion for driving, you're one of us.   • The BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 tyre is launched. BFGoodrich wins Dakar.

  • Cairns Coconut Resort Rally Team wins 2011 Australasian Safari on  BFGoodrich tyres. BFGoodrich wins overall at the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000.

  • BFGoorich launches the g-Grip. BFGoodrich wins Dakar. BFGoodrich Mud Terrain T/A KM2 wins 4WD Action Magazine's Best Tyre award.  

  • BFGoodrich expands its range with products for business use with Activan van tyres. The Radial Long Trail T/A Tour tyres are launched to strengthen the 4x4 range.

  • BFGoodrich introduces (4th-generation) Mud-Terrain™ T/A® KM2.

  • BFGoodrich, Dakar Rally winner.

  •  BFGoodrich wins the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup.

  • BFGoodrich Tires becomes the king of American off-road competitions by winning 21 consecutive Baja 1000 titles. 

  • BFGoodrich enters the World Rally Championship alongside the greatest teams. The brand enables Sébastien Loeb in his Kronos Total Citroën to win the title of World Champion driver and the company wins the World Champion Constructor title with BP Ford WR. BFGoodrich launchs the extreme off-road 4x4 tyre - the BFGoodrich Krawler.

  • BFGoodrich hails the launch of the g-Force Profiler, the High Performance tyre with the unique GRIP with greatest driving control.

  • BFGoodrich launches its passenger car / light truck tyre range in Europe with a class-leading product: the Profiler G.

  • BFGoodrich introduces 3rd-generation All-Terrain T/A® KO. BFGoodrich wins the Dakar Rally with John-Louis Schlesser.

  • Practically 90 years after introducing black tyres, BFGoodrich launched a range of very high performance coloured tyres - The BFgoodrich Scortcher T/A.

  • Driving a Toyota Celica on BFGoodrich tyres, New Zealander, Rod Millen took victory in the world's most famous hill-climb event - Pikes Peak. Setting a new record, Rod Millen completed the 20km course which took him from an altitude of 2,865 metres to 4,300 metres in just 10m 4.54s.

  • BFGoodrich wins SCORE Baja 500 1st overall with Mark McMillin.

  • BFGoodrich wins SCORE Baja 500 1st overall with Corky & Scott McMillin.

  • The Columbia space shuttle is fitted with BFGoodrich tyres.

  • BFGoodrich launches the first Radial Performance tyre for light commercial vehicles: the Radial All Terrain T/A.

  • BFGoodrich introduces 'radial-ply' touring tyres in North America, while other manufacturers continue to develop 'Bias-ply tyres. A legend is born: BFGoodrich wins the "Baja 1000".

  • BFGoodrich launches the first run-flat tyre.

  • BFGoodrich develops the American Radial tyre: the "Lifesaver."

  • America's first astronauts come to BFGoodrich for the suits that will protect them in outer space.

  • When the aircraft industry accelerated into the Jet Age, BFGoodrich produced the first tubless tyres for jet aircraft. It also began to make brakes for military jet planes and the first U.S.-built passenger jet, the Boeing 707.

  • During World War II, BFGoodrich applied its rubber technology and engineering skills to dozens of aircraft products including propeller de-icers, fuel hoses, shock absorbers, engine mounts, and self-sealing fuel tanks. BFGoodrich also invented and developed rubber hydraulic expander tube brakes for heavy aircraft such as the DC-4, B-17 "Flying Fortress", and later the B-52.

  • BFGoodrich Tires pushes innovations forward and revolutionises the industry by inventing the world's first tubeless tyre.

  • BFGoodrich Tires opens the first commercial synthetic rubber plant in the United States.

  • After years of intensive research, BFGoodrich scientists discovered a way to produce synthetic rubber. Today, synthetic rubber accounts for some 60% of the total amount of rubber used to produce a road tyre. 

  • Charles Lindbergh carved out an indelible place for himself in aviation history by becoming the first person to cross the Atalantic by air. On 20 May, 1926, aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh lands his plane -  'The Spirit of St. Louis' - in Paris, France on BFGoodrich tyres.

  • BFGoodrich markets galoshes with zippers - The Zipper was originally a BFGoodrich trademark. The Zipper itself has since moved into the world of common nouns. 

  • World War I - BFGoodrich tyres were standard on all U.S military planes. 

  • BFGoodrich entered the motor racing record books in style by becoming the first tyre manufacturer to win the legendary Indianapolis 500 two years in a row.

  • The BFGoodrich Silvertown tyre uses carbon black to improve abrasion resistance, add tread life and forever change the color of tyres from rubber's natural color to black.

  • Six years after the Wright Brothers' historic first flight, Glenn Curtis of Curtis Aeroplane Corporation set a speed record of 47 miles per hour to win the first international flying race in Reims, France. BFGoodrich supplied the tyres on his plane.

  • Henry Ford chooses BFGoodrich tyres for his Ford Model A. Based on a $50 bet, Winton of Horation Nelson Jackson and Sewall Crocker succeeded in crossing the USA from coast to coast - their vehicle was fitted with BFGoodrich tyres.

  • BFGoodrich Tires become the first pneumatic tyres sold in America when it took an order from the Winton Automobile Company of Cleveland, Ohio.

  • Charles Cross Goodrich, the son of Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich establishes one of the first research labs in the USA.

  • With encouragement and loans from prominent local residents, Dr. Benjamin Franklin Goodrich - an Union Army surgeon in the American Civil War - creates the first North American rubber company in Akron, Ohio.
